How To Make Meringue, Instructions For The Best Result
Topping

The simple recipe on how to make meringue returns a mix that complements fruity pies and desserts.

Dry humidity-free days return the best results. Besides, take special care that the bowl is clean.  Glass and steel allow for this best.

Spread the freshly whipped meringue mix on top of a  hot sweet pie. The heat will help the meringue to turn out firmer. In contrast, spread on top of cold fruit, its consistency underneath the golden brown surface, will likely remain creamy.

For special occasions, meringue topping makes out of a bowl of berries or cut fruit an elegant dessert. Serve it fresh out of the oven.

Enjoy!

How much meringue to prepare?

The amount to prepare is always a tricky question. For three people eating apple sauce with potato pancakes or filling one round apple pie, we use about one-kilogram apples.

In general, the sourer the apple you use is the more sugar you will probably add. If you use a sweeter apple or mix different apple types together you change the aroma and sweetness of the sauce. So please see the amounts as a rough guideline and adjust the cooked apple recipe to your taste.

The apple sauce recipe goes well with potato pancakes or makes a great filling for apple pies. All the same, it can be served as a dessert on its own or spiced up with some ice cream or yoghurt.
