Easy Banana Bread Recipe

This easy banana bread recipe leaves a sweet, moist and fruity sensation on the taste buds with a nutty under taste. This bread is sweet like a cake so it can be enjoyed by itself or with a topping.

Bananas are an uncomplicated healthy snack for kids, but there are times where they just ripen too quickly. This is when banana recipes are ideal to restore the balance in a fruit basket and offer a great use for the sweetness of the fully ripened banana. There are bread, cake and muffin recipes that profit from overripe bananas. 

Then again they become favourites for snacks, school lunch boxes and picnics.

Bread recipe ingredients:

baking powderBaking Powder
Himalayan crystal saltSalt
walnutsWalnuts
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 teaspoons of vanilla sugar
    or
    1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence
  • 1 cup of mashed bananas ( 2 to 3)
  • 1 1/4 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of fine salt
  • 1/2 cup of walnuts roasted

Kitchen utensils:

  • 2 Bowls
  • 1 Loaf pan
  • Handmixer

Step by step instructions:

Preparations: Grease or line a loaf pan (21 cm to 13 cm) and preheat the oven to 180C°. Convert!

  1. Into the first bowl mix all of the dry ingredients together thoroughly. The one and a quarter cups of flour, the teaspoon of baking powder and the half a teaspoon of salt.
  2. In the second bowl cream half a cup of softened butter with half a cup of sugar, the four teaspoons of vanilla sugar and the two eggs.
  3. Mash the 2-3 bananas with a fork, makes about one cup. Mix the bananas under the butter-sugar-egg mix. The mix will now look a bit curdled.
  4. Use a spatula or spoon to fold under the flour mixture.
  5. Lastly fold under the roasted chopped walnuts.

Fill the batter into the loaf pan and bake for 55 minutes at 180C°.

Let the banana bread cool down completely before serving. It is a bread that can be easily prepared one or two days in advance since it develops it's full flavour the day after baking.
