Easy Homemade Mayonnaise Recipe

A homemade mayonnaise gives the flavor to an easy egg salad recipe, is perfect for a homemade potato salad or makes a feast out of steamed vegetables.

Ingredient list:

  • 30ml of milk
  • 125ml of vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp of mustard
  • 2 tsp of lemon juice
  • Pepper and salt
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed

Tip: If you prepare a dairy free mayonnaise, then replace the milk with an egg yolk.

Step by step:

  1. Pour the milk into a mixing bowl. (for a dairy-free mayonnaise, replace the milk with one egg yolk)
  2. Using a hand mixer and while at high speed add the oil to the milk drop by drop.
  3. When both liquids are combined (this may take a while), add the two teaspoons of mustard and the two teaspoons of lemon juice and blend them thoroughly in.
  4. Season with salt and pepper from a grinder and fold in the garlic crushed in a garlic-press.
